I bought this car in 2002 as a combination road
registered and track car. I did a few track schools and decided to take it
vintage racing. Its a Lotus Seven and, as they say on Top Gear, How hard could
it be?. Well, that was 6 race seasons ago and countless updates. For starters,
the Ford Kent Crossflow engine just didnt have the components to tackle race
conditions. So, to make a long story short, the engine is a very capable, yet
pretty reliable, Ford Kent Crossflow 1600+ engine. Details are in the Car Info page.
As you can see, the body work is in very good condition.
Ive decided after 6 seasons of vintage racing at VIR, Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta,
Roebling Road, NJ Motorsports Park and Summit Point to switch over to Formula
Ford. Its always been that dream to go formula racing since my Dad took me to
see the Indy cars at Langhorne and Trenton in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
The car handles well and Ive seen top speed of 120 mph.
Braking is now good after the Master Cylinder rebuild. The bonnet is attached
with the Rubber tie downs, leather straps and pins at the front pivot point.
The entire bonnet can be removed easily so everything forward of the firewall
has easy access.
If you want to see the view from the cockpit, check out
the In Car Videos
section also. If you have any questions, send me a note at my Contact page.
